medicare

Medicare is the government-run health organisation in Australia. Travellers from many countries can receive free health care because of recipricol agreements. Repatriation, evacuation, ambulance, dental and physiotherapy costs are not covered.

If you are eligible you can apply at any Medicare office to receive a Medicare Card. You will need to show your passpart and visa and another form of ID when applying. For further info call MEdicare on 13 20 11

The sun in Australia can be very powerful. Always take proper precautions:

1. Wear a wide-brimmed hat
2. wear a shirt
3. Use SPF30+ sunscreen every day, even when it is cloudy
4. use your sunglasses
